Imagine being presented with a check for $1,000,000! We’ve all thought about what we would do if we won $1,000,000. Well here is your chance to find out. On Monday, September 12th, you will have a chance to win $1,000,000 at Rockaway Development & Revitalization Corporation’s (RDRC) Fifth Annual Golf Tournament. The tournament will be held at Inwood Country Club, Inwood, NY. All tournament players will participate in The JetBlue Challenge. For a hole-in-one on any of the par 3s, win a fabulous 5-day/4-night golf vacation package for two to any one of four JetBlue Challenge resorts with round trip airfare provided by JetBlue Airways. Par 3 winners will participate in a 150-yard Shoot-Out. A hole-in-one at this Shoot-Out hole wins the Grand Prize of $1,000,000! In addition to these great prizes there are some exciting off-course activities, including an awards dinner, a sports memorabilia auction, raffles, and more. Rockaway Development & Revitalization Corporation (RDRC) is a not-for-profit local development corporation, which was organized in 1978 by community residents and business leaders to develop a comprehensive community development program for the Rockaways in response to serious problems including deteriorating commercial areas, residential blight and substandard housing, and high rates of poverty, unemployment, and crime. The corporation's overall mission is to promote the revitalization of the community's economic base and neighborhoods, and assist its residents in obtaining an improved "quality of life." Proceeds from the golf tournament will benefit RDRC’s Youth Programs. For many of our youth, RDRC represents one of the few available places that they can come for guidance and advice. Collectively, the results of our efforts are clear, youths who participate in our programs are more likely to achieve better academic results, go on to institutions of higher learning, gain meaningful work experience and become productive adults. Kevin Alexander, RDRC’s Executive Director encourages businesses, residents, and community leaders to come out for this event. “Individuals can participate in many different ways.
